Dear Friend,

LiveWire Chicago Theatre is proud to announce the World Premiere of “Lower Debt,” opening March 5th at the Viaduct Theatre (3111 N. Western Ave). Play your part and become a Donor Today!

The LiveWire Collective developed this piece at the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs Theater (DCA) as part of their INCUBATOR series, a program designed to support the creation of new work by emerging Chicago theater companies. Utilizing the DCA space and resources, the Collective explored and refined “Lower Debt” over a three-week period. We then had the opportunity to share the process with the public during a special showcase event:

LiveWire captivates audience with a modern Everyman tale: After a well-paced, thoughtful and language filled hour and fifteen minutes, the audience readily stayed in their seats to talk about what they had just seen, and to offer feedback about the changes that could be made before LiveWire launches a fully produced version.” – DCA Theater Blog

How did we end up here? Set in the uncertain economic climate at the beginning of the 21st century, “Lower Debt” tells the story of an everyman who leaves his white-collar existence, ending up among residents of a tent city looking for another way to live. This ensemble-based, multimedia show written by Executive Director Joshua Aaron Weinstein is the our biggest production to date… And, the company’s most exciting!

With your support today of $50 or more, LiveWire offers two free tickets to the World Premiere of “Lower Debt.”

Your support makes a marked difference in our organizational and artistic success. It provides us the opportunity to present this extremely relevant and timely piece as well as look ahead to our 2010-11 Season. Consider making a $10 donation and you’ll have paid for an hour of rehearsal, donate $30 and you’ll have paid for an evening of rehearsal, donate $75 and one of our artists receives a stipend, $150 goes toward website support, a $225 donation goes toward a day’s rental at the Viaduct, $500 covers marketing expenses for the show, $2,000 covers all of our production materials… The list goes on. The bottom line remains… ANY size donation is accepted and greatly appreciated. Donations can be made through PayPal here, or donations made payable to LiveWire Chicago Theatre NFP can be sent to P.O. Box 11226, Chicago Illinois 60611-0226.
