Amber graduated from Valparaiso University in 2001 with degrees in Theatre & English. Some of her favorite productions included portraying Nina in Anton Chekhov’s THE BEAR, (for which she received an Irene Ryan Nomination), a member of the Chorus in MEDEA, God #2 in Bertolt Brecht’s THE GOOD PERSON OF SZECHWAN, and Woman in AFTER, a ten-minute play by Zachary Davis. She also had the great opportunity to portray Lisa in the student film HUNTERS IN THE SNOW. She worked in the scene shop throughout all four years in college and was the stage manager on two main stage productions, CHILDREN OF EDEN and THE BALLAD OF BABY DOE.
After graduation she moved to Chicago where she worked at the Goodman Theatre Scene Shop for three years. She has been the Assistant Stage Manager at Writers’ Theatre for two seasons where she has been lucky enough to work on such productions as SEAGULL, TO THE GREEN FIELDS BEYOND, ARMS AND THE MAN, THE UNEASY CHAIR, BUS STOP, and THE DUCHESS OF MALFI. Amber has also worked with the Piccolo Theatre Company Stage Managing their productions of WE WON’T PAY, SCAPIN, THE ARTFUL WIDOW, as both of the original productions of the Christmas Pantomimes, MR. PUNCH and JACK AND THE WILD GOOSE CHASE. In June of 2006, Amber returned to the Goodman Theatre as the Production Company Manager.
Amber is a proud member of LiveWire Theatre where she has Stage Managed MACBETH, HEDDA GABLER and MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING. She has been the set designer for LIFE IS A DREAM, THREE SISTERS, and A NIGHT OF INNOCENT GAMES. She was thrilled to have the opportunity to perform as Helena in UNCLE VANYA.
